I could call myself a jerky fan. I had a moment with Krave’s chili lime jerky. So good.
But they’re typically loaded with sugar on top of salt. I was excited to see a no sugar jerky by Tillamook Country Smoker. The name caught my eye because Tillamook is known for making cheese, but they are actually two completely different companies.
The original jerky flavor was on markdown at Costco. It was still at a premium and can’t remember the price. A bag doesn’t have a lot and the recommended amount of servings is six. It gets crumbly at the end, so pour the rest out in a bowl. I was also surprised to see a simple ingredient list. I don’t pay much attention to the sodium in items, but like most jerky it is salty. Original flavor tastes just like its name… original. Nothing too stand out in the taste.
If you’re trying to eat less sugar, then this is a good option. There are also other flavors in their portfolio. I’d buy again if it was discounted, but probably not full price.
